Colin's Robotics

Colin is very excited to be in the robotics club at school again this year. They meet every Tuesday after school to practice and work on their robots. This year he gets to go to two competitions in the area. The first was a few weeks ago. His team started out in the top ten but had troubles with the robot and did not qualify for the finals. He is determined to make the finals for the next competition. A few highlights of the day.

Colin intensely focused on his turn.

Grayson was thrilled they had a snack stand. He loved his ring pop.

A long weekend

In a good way! Tristan had a long five day weekend due to having two days off of school for conferences and Presidents day. Liam and Colin had an early out day on Friday then Monday off for Presidents day. Part of the weekend was spent hanging out at home playing and attempting to get a few things done and part of the weekend we had fun out and about.

Friday afternoon the boys and I went bowling and had a great time. At the end Declan said it was the best day ever. However, he does say this a lot. :)  Tristan and Colin played without the gutter bumpers and did a pretty good job. Liam, Declan and Grayson also played well but they had the bonus of the gutter guards.

To celebrate Presidents Day we bundled up and headed to the zoo. The temperature was in the high 20's and ended up being not too bad. It was a little crazy putting on and off our coats depending on the building but it was another great fun day. The perfect kind of day to explore the jungle and desert dome. Places we often avoid in the hot summer time.

Checking out the jungle.

We were in this spot a good ten minutes admiring the bats that were really close!

Our own little monkeys.

Watching a tree being cut down with a chain saw. They were entranced.

Grayson was trying to pull Tristan to go with him.

This orangutan was very playful today.

Ended the day in the desert dome.
